Americans are concerned about the cost of health care, losing their health insurance if they change jobs, and a lack of information about price and quality even though they have the best health care facilities and medical professionals in the world. To make health care in America more affordable and efficient, President Bush has proposed a comprehensive agenda. The President believes that Americans deserve reliable health care, high-quality and reasonably priced and the security of knowing they will have it when they need it. Now, What we need to know is ---- IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?
Individual needs and preferences that are easily obtainable, understandable information about the price and quality of the care they receive are at the Top of people’s lists of what they want their insurance company to give to them.
One of my topmost questions to any insurance company would be their denial rate! That rate is very high is this country because of the high costs for equipment, medicine, nursing care, etc. SO------
What kind of agenda are we looking at?
HAS’s ----- Health Savings Accounts ---- are very popular because they are tax-free, but are attached to a high deductible comprehensive insurance policy which is really good, but not affordable for most. These policies can be individual or job generated. These policies are something to look into and research carefully.
When you get an insurance policy through your employment you should be able to have that policy no matter whether you stay at the employment that you got the policy from in the first place or whether you decide to change employment, move to the other side of the country or whatever. So many people stay right where they are when they could be in a much better job, but because of the restrictions on the insurance, they are job-locked. This is a very important idea to get accomplished for both the individual and the employer.
You should be able to get insurance anywhere that you want, not just in the state that you live. You are the one that is going to have to be paying alot of money to be assured of the insurance that is right for you , so it is your right.
There are so many innovative ways to make health insurance affordable to all people. A Doctor in my community is opening a new office that will be there for those who have no health insurance and those who cannot pay as well as for those who can. It is called a Community Supported Medical Practice where there are benefactors who pay a yearly amount that will take care of them and therefore, take care of the uninsured. If the benefactors don’t use up all that they have paid in, it is tax deductible. This is an exciting new approach, getting the community involved in helping those that really need help and getting great health care!
We also live in a sue-crazy world where people sue for astronomical amounts of money! There are cases where people should get punitive damages, but not the whole world! Liability Insurance for doctors, hospitals, etc. are ‘out the roof’, therefore, higher medical bills, insurance and everything that goes with it.
It is up to all of us to work together to come up with the best possible ideas and thoughts that we can to make health insurance affordable for all!
